Having strange behavior on an iMac of 2010 vintage,
running High Sierra 10.13.6

I can download current version 1.4.1717 or preview version 1.4.1725-2
but when it tries to verify before opening - I get a message that says it is corrupted, Move it to the Trash.
I can download and install 1.3.1093 with no difficulty on this 2010 iMac.
I have re-tried 1.4.1717, several times, but it always fails in verifying.
I can download and install 1.4.717 with no difficulty on my 2018 MacBook Air laptop, so it is not an internet connection issue.
Is there some sort of cleaning/maintenance I need to do? Some way to make the verification work?
